The Post Master advises that due to staff holidays the service on Monday 1st and 8th July will be operating between the hours of 2.45pm and 4.45pm.
Thursday’s service during this period will be unaffected.

2019 Gardeners Show Schedule Launched
The 2019 Gardeners Show Schedule is now available to download from the website via this link 2019 Gardeners Show
The show takes place on Saturday 31st August with entries until 2pm and then reopens at 5pm for refreshments, prize giving and the grand sale of produce.
Post Office Closures over Easter
The Post Master advises that the service will not be open at the hall on Thursday 18th April and on Easter Monday 22nd April.
Normal service resumes on Thursday 25th April.
Post office opening times February 2019
As from Thursday 7th February through to Thursday 28th
Mondays 2.45pm to 4.45pm (From Monday 11th)
Thursday’s – there will be no service on Thursdays during February.
This is due to staff holidays. Normal service will resume on both Mondays and Thursdays from Monday 4th March.
Hall presented with cheque from the kingsley fund
Last Sunday (27th January) saw former trustees of Kingsley Youth and Community Centre , Ivor Lucas and Ann Evans presenting the hall with a cheque from the Kingsley Fund for £1000.
The monies which are managed by the Community Foundation of Staffordshire came from the sale of the land and building on Holt Lane.
The money has been earmarked to replace the rear fire
Chair of the hall committee Martyn Hordern stated that it is hoped to see work started very soon and added ‘we are grateful to the Community Foundation and of course to Ann and Ivor for their support, this money will make a big difference’
Post Office Hours Monday 14th JANUARY 2019
The Post Master advises that due to staff holidays the service at the hall tomorrow will be from 2.45pm to 4.45pm.
Normal hours on Thursday and thereafter.
Post Office Opening Hours 3rd January 2019
The Post Master advises of a last minute change to the scheduled opening hours for the service on Thursday 3rd January.
For this date only the Post Office will be open from 12 noon to 2pm.
Post Office Opening Hours @ The Hall Christmas and the New Year
The Post Master advises that the following hours of service will operate over the Christmas period :
Christmas Eve – 11am – 12 noon
Thursday 27th December 2.45pm to 4.45pm (Normal hours)
New Year’s Eve – 11 am to 12 noon
Christmas Events a Great Success
The events of Friday evening 1st December and the Saturday were judged to be the best Christmas events yet held at the hall.
Once again ArB from Brookhouses in Cheadle sponsored the tree which was perfect. With support from the Parish Council, additional lighting was purchased for the tree and hall and we upgraded Santa’s Grotto.
Friday’s lights switch on was not as well attended as previous years but there was a great community feel about the night and we had some great carol singing from our younger members of the community.
Saturday’s breakfast was our best yet – we sold 100 tickets and including the committee’s breakfasts exceeded that. Around 40 children came to see Santa in his grotto and we had a busy but fun-filled morning.
Whilst the hall will have done well out the weekend financially, the main point of the two events was the community spirit it creates and develops which is priceless.
A few thank you’s are in order. To the Rev Sue Symons who opened the lights on Friday and as always chose such perfect words (and came for coffee on Saturday proving she has at least two Christmas jumpers !)
To Santa and Mrs Claus who gave him time off to come and say hello, to Allison who helped Santa with the presents, Graham Coates who captured some great images of the day, Barbara and Sharon who baked cakes, the stall holders who came along on Friday night, the hall committee for their efforts and last but not least everyone who came along to the hall and made for such a special occasion.
If anyone wanted to know – the Guess the Weight of the competition was won by one of our senior citizens who was thrilled. Her guess of 7 Ibs 10 oz was just 2 oz higher than the actual weight.
