Breakfast with Santa / Lights Event Success

cvp_8159Just a few words to say how thrilled we were that Breakfast with Santa went so well yesterday, and of course after such a great night on Friday at the Lights. The lights will be on at the hall every night from 5pm to 11pm.

We did over 70 breakfasts and had 28 children coming to see Santa. We are of course sorry we had to disappoint some people who wanted to come and especially the children.

We feel that we can accommodate more next time with an even spread across the morning. We are already planning how to make it event better next year.

We would like to thank Mrs Claus who gave Santa the morning off to come to make all the children smile, also for allowing Holly the Elf one of Santa’s Helpers to come along as well.

Whilst the smiles of the children were priceless the biggest smile of the day award went to ‘young’ George Mason who won Guess the Weight of the Cake with the last guest (2 ounces within the actual weight)!

We would also like to thank Mark Mason from Creative Photography who captured the spirit of the day and to Barbara and Jean who baked cakes to sell and the Christmas cake respectively.

We would also like to thank Dianne Lucas who made and donated two hanging baskets which we sold to raise funds for the hall.

We are in the process of contacting the winners of the various raffle prizes. Winner of the hamper was Hayley. Also, we have one winner without a contact number – if Dawn Chadwick follows the page or anyone knows Dawn please get in touch with us.

Lastly, a big thank you to the hall’s committee who worked really hard on the day (as well as baking mince pies in the week) to make it such a success! We are already planning our next event so watch this space!

Breakfast with Santa Update

breakfast-with-santa-fbWell, just a week to go to the Christmas Lights and Breakfast with Santa double bill.

The Lights event is all in place with the tree going up on Tuesday and the hall being decorated on Wednesday.

If you have any unwanted Christmas decorations please let us know as we can make use of them.

As far as the breakfast goes we have sadly sold out – ticket sales have exceeded our expectations with almost 70 sold at present.

Whilst not wanting to disappoint anyone we are conscious that its going to be a busy morning with lots of people about and we want those who have tickets to have an enjoyable time which could be spoiled if we are over crowded.

sold outIf anyone hasn’t ordered a ticket so far but wants to come do let us know and we can double check over the weekend that all orders are still required.

We will if there are any free tickets allocate those out on a first come first served basis.

We did advertise previously that people could turn up and pay on the day. Of course, that is now no longer possible – we anticipate queues for Santa and some waits for the food.

Please share this news amongst your friends who were thinking of coming – the last thing we wish to do is to upset or disappoint anyone but hopefully those affected will understand why we have at present stopped selling tickets.

We are doing a grand raffle over the weekend with some great prizes, any donations are more than welcome – just contact us or bring them along on either day.

We are grateful to Mark at Creative Vision Photography (website is http://creativevisionphotography.co.uk/ ) who has donated a prize for the raffle which is a free family photo shoot (photos extra) with a difference. He will come to your home and do the portraits there.

In addition, Mark will be at the breakfast and will photograph the children with Santa (with free delivery locally of any pictures purchased) which would make a great Christmas gift.

If space allows Mark might be able to take family group photos but that may not be possible due to the numbers we are expecting to turn up.

Bhangra Blaze Taster Session Friday 9th December 7.30pm

bhangrablaze-taster-session-stoke-on-trent

The hall has  been approached to put on a Bhangra Blaze fitness class taster session.

Bhangra is an Asian dance inspired fitness session for all ages and abilities – its a bit like aerobics but with a strong emphasis on dance, rythm and music (mine interpretation not Janine the organisers !)

The session is on Friday 9th December at 7.30pm – cost is £5 per person.

Clearly, if this is a success and enough people are interested Janine will run more sessions – so please do come along, see what its about and hopefully it will become a fixture at the hall ?

To book your place please call or text Janine Bailey on 07769 565012.

Lastly – please share this amongst your friends so there is a full hall!
