Village Hall AGM 27th October 2015 7.30 pm @ The Hall

The committee invite the whole community and would love to see as many people as possible who wish to support the continued development of the building join us.
We are looking for a new secretary and other volunteers who have an hour or so to spare every few weeks.
Financially the hall is fairly stable but a drop in revenue over the last twelve months is a warning that we can take nothing for granted.

Please continue to support the hall and help the committee in its upkeep.

County Councillor Assists Hall with Funding

downloadThe hall committee are delighted that Mike Worthington our local County Councillor has donated £500 from his members fund to assist the hall in purchasing and installing a new central heating boiler in a project costing over £2500.

Mike has been a good friend to the hall over the years and we cannot thank him enough for his kind award.

The boiler was duly installed on Friday 18th September. See our Facebook page for more details.

Afternoon Tea @ The Hall

IMAG1111Saturday 5th September saw the hall holding an afternoon tea with a bingo session to finish.

Whilst the theme was to mark VJ Day which was 70 years ago with Union Jack bunting and period songs and music the main aim was to hold a community event with two very quintessential British past times.

Whilst numbers attending were less than we hoped those who did attend had a great time and all commented on what a good afternoon they had.

Pictured are some of those who came for tea enjoying sandwiches and some excellent home baked cakes.

Community Police Surgeries

SURGERY SIGN - KinglseyFollowing on from a similar exercise last year Police Community Support Officer Adam Cliffe will be holding three surgeries at the hall in September, October and November.

They will be held during Post Office hours on Mondays between 3pm and 4 pm.

The dates are as follows :

7th September, 12th October and 23rd November.

The community Police Officer and the three PCSO’s cover a massive area that takes in something like 30 villages so its great that Adam is making the time to come to Kingsley and the parish to allow residents to meet him and discuss any issues.

Breeze and Wilson – Fantastic Night

Saturday 6th June saw acclaimed duo Breeze and Wilson perform at the hall in front of a packed audience.

They were once again well received and all present thoroughly enjoyed the nights entertainment and plated ploughman’s supper put on by the hall committee. We were pleased to receive so many positive comments on the night and in the days following.

The committee are delighted to announce that proceeds from the night came to over £450 which will be used to fund the hall’s continued upkeep.
