New Fitness Class @ The Hall

Fitness picThe hall committee are delighted to announce that starting this next week there will be a three times a week fitness class held at the hall.

Run by Caz Owen the classes are aimed at ladies and aim to maximise fat loss and tone physique.

Previously at Unit 3 in Cheadle.

We wish Caz well in this venture and look forward to a long association with ‘Fitness with Caz’

There is a Facebook page that gives all the details and it can be found at https://www.facebook.com/Fitness-with-Caz-481866475350158/timeline

Times as follows :

Monday’s 9.30am

Fridays 9.30am and 6.00pm

All sessions are 45 minutes in length.

BODY BLITZ WHAT IS IT?

To achieve that toned physique, even females have to lift; a specialised Female only 45 minute high intensity circuit – maximise fat loss and tone your physique.

Lifting weights is traditionally viewed as a very ‘alpha male’ and masculine activity, but despite this females with fat loss and fitness goals can benefit from the approach. The BODY BLITZ circuit utilises lifting and fitness techniques, and is designed to introduce females of all ages and fitness levels to a more efficient method of working out, allowing you to truly make the most of your time.

After an engaging and interactive warm up, the next 35 minutes will crucially engage the larger muscle groups. By placing more demand on your metabolic system, this in turn leads to the desired effect of increased fat loss. Expect a variety of exercises with constant encouragement and motivation from me and will guide you though the session and into a dedicated cool down.

Everything you hated about working out; gone

Hall Chair Martyn Hordern receiving the cheque from Councillor Elsie Fallows

The hall committee are delighted to announce that local District Councillor Elsie Fallows has supported the hall with a generous donation from her Community Initiative Fund of £100.

The money will be used to purchase paint and materials as we wish to freshen up the interior of the hall during 2016.

Said Martyn Hordern chair of the Committee ‘we are very grateful to Councillor Fallows – there are lots of deserving causes so we are lucky she chose to support the hall’

Last year Councillor Fallows supported the Hall’s Defibrillator Appeal with a similar donation.

They meet every Wednesday at 7pm and have received regional recognition for their success.

The group continues to meet over the Christmas and New Year so if your New Years resolution is to loose weight then this group can help you – as the slogan says ‘New Year New You’

Apparently the latest issue of Woman magazine has vouchers that can be used at any group (see image on this page) – so make use of them and please don’t think its just for woman – men are just as welcome.

Season’s Greeting from the Hall’s Committee

happy N YThe hall’s committee do hope that you have had a very merry Christmas despite the unseasonably mild weather ?

Can we wish you all the very best for the New Year and we do hope that we will see as many people as possible at the hall during 2016 – we have plans for some great events for you to enjoy in the heart of the community.

The Old Rectory Free Range Organic Turkeys

TOrganic Free Range Turkeyrevised1 2015he village hall are always keen to support local business’s  and one such concern is Mark at the Old Rectory.

Mark has supplied the village hall with free range chicken and duck eggs for our breakfast events and they are always so much better than whatever you can get in the shops.

Mark also each Christmas rears free range organic turkeys that are fresh and ready in the days leading up to Christmas.

Several of the hall’s committee have had Mark’s turkey’s in the past and are doing so again this year. They are fantastic and better than anything you can get elsewhere.

They are selling well again  this year and he has just a few left – so if you haven’t sorted a turkey out for this Christmas please do consider Mark.

Details as per the attached leaflet.

Christmas Lights this Friday 4th December

Lights PosterThis coming Friday sees our third Christmas Lights event at the hall.

We have been busy over the summer and have installed a bracket to hold this years tree at the front  of the hall adjacent to the front door making it even more visible to the community.

We are delighted that County Councillor Mike Worthington a good friend to the hall over the years has agreed to perform this years switch on.

We hope this year will be better than ever but we still have carol singing, hot mulled wine and mince pies, a raffle and a guess the weight of the Christmas Cake where the winner will win the cake baked by a local lady who is a star baker as far as we are concerned !

There will also be the sale of some home made cards and gift tags and of course this years fantastic calendar !

KVH CalThe calendar has been made possible by the kind assistance of JCB and also two talented photographers – Andrew Nixon and Steven Bailey – it is now on sale at £4.99. All proceeds will go to the hall’s upkeep so its a worthwhile cause as well as a great Christmas present.

We only have 50 so do be quick before they are gone. We will deliver within the village or thereabouts if required.

They can be purchased on the day or ordered via Martyn on 7506567, Alison on 07980 830647 and  via the contact form below.
